Copy geometry for beginner

How would you define copy geometry to an absolute beginner?

Similar to Windows, or Firefox...

Click "Publish Geometry" in Creo. Here you will define what you want to copy (like copying a Word text).

Next in another part, click "Copy Geometry" in Creo, search the part, and click them. Then this is like the paste operation, because what you previously selected will be copied to your actual part.

Did you get it?

So if we do any changes to the original object, will the copied object undergo change as well?

If the "copy geometry" isn*t set to independent (you can change between dependent and independent), then yes.

I am afraid I have to disagree.

The conventional copy-and-paste operation for features is also availiable.

"Copy Geometry" is used to hand over geometry to other entities (parts, assemblies, etc.) without the need of creating the features again which geometry is based on.

Imagine some kind of "geometry link". (this is a pretty simplified description, but I guess it matches the major idea of the "copy geometry").
