Hello PTC community. I've found myself in a very peculiar situation that's been puzzling me for weeks now. I rely heavily on Creo for assignments and everyday projects, so any help from experienced users would be fantastic. Here's the rundown:

Several months ago, I decided to perform a fresh reinstall of Creo 11 after the application began freezing and crashing my laptop at startup. However, after following the installation guide (provided by my uni), I encountered the same problem: more crashes and freezes. My teacher suggested uninstalling/reinstalling V12. Against all expectations, this backfired: not only did I begin to experience licensing compatibility issues with V12, but the V11 reinstaller began to fault, with various error messages and failed downloads. Fast forward a few weeks, and I'm still struggling with the same issues, and can hardly get Creo to download on my computer again...

I'm honestly hopeless at this point. If someone has had similar problems or can direct me to a service, that would be amazing. Thanks!

Hi,

first of all ... your problem cannot be solved remotely via community discussion. You must find a person, who will be able to sit at your computer a work with it locally.

Note #1: Creo crashes tend to be associated with graphic card drivers. These drivers are updated automatically in Windows and this can lead to problems. Simply said: Creo needs to always communicate with the same driver version. Automatic update must be disabled.

Note #2: You were working with V11. I assume therefore that the license file contains the V11 license. This explains why you cannot use V12.

Hey Martin, thanks for the reply...Can I ask you a few more questions about the graphics card drivers?

I think you might be onto something, as I use Norton to update my drivers (and other things) regularly. Could this be part of the problem? If so, how could I tell? And, might you know of a way to roll back my graphics card to a stable, more compatible version?

Also, I appreciate your honesty in suggesting I should find someone to sit with me at my computer and handle it locally. If I'm honest, I'm not sure who to contact to resolve this issue, as I can't reach out to my professors, and I've already contacted IT (they have no idea). Are there any services I can contact virtually and screen share with to resolve the problem?
