I'm having the same problem that an awful lot of people seem to be having - m12 installs just fin on a Win7 64-bit machine, but the program won't actually run. I installed .Net 1.1 and MsXML directly from the CD.I've tried running in Compatibility Mode for XP SP2, XP SP3,

It's time to bite the bullet!

Much of the discussion was in the old Collaboratory and didn't get brought forward, but version 12 was one of the poorest ever versions of Mathcad ever released. If you can't get it to run, take that as a sign, wait a month and buy Prime 2.0 (which will come with a full-up version 15.) Version 15 is about the best version since version 11. Prime is the future of Mathcad (whether we like it or not.) By Prime 4 (or 5, 6, ...) it should have the capability of 15. Meantime, you can get two for the price of one. You can also downlowd a month-long evaluation copy, to hold you until Prime 2 is released.

Its definitely been a while since I've updated the software. But as I look around, I see posts about every version of Mathcad from 11 to 15 having these same problems. So I'm not convinced that sending PTC more money would actually be a solution...

I suspect that the root is related to Win7 UAC, perhaps with some of the underlying components like MSXML.
