Thank you for your positive energy to PTC and Prime 7. I have been watching from Prime 1 to now.
Yes, there are many changes that differ from timelines .

As I stand back and imagine if I am part of the software development role, I can understand the time needed to make perfection on the transition to Prime. Yes, we all hope they can speed up.

I have many clients that build all their files from MC 14, into MC 15 years, and over decades, and to transit the files to Prime was not easy. The converter don't fully faithful. Hence they only can use Prime for new project and

retype lots of old files use Prime. Is tough. Now the Prime 7 , it said need not installed the MC 15 parallel to Prime 7, and the converter will do the conversion faithfully. I do have concern how " faithful is faithful" In the webcast, it said " if one see the redline define error in conversion, just go to top toolbar and click on one button, that will erase all the red line, and will save as new file, all will be fine. " There are many different components that my client uses in different segment in civil, electrical, mechanical and chemical engineering, and is very broad base across different usage, different formulas, and not sure how possible the thorough testing is done. And how will the support be if error occur. I certainly hope the road is less bumpy and we all see light at the end of tunnel, as many users of Mathcad are not new, some way back to 30 years ago.

What is PTC promising regarding changes in Prime 7 w.r.t. Prime 6?

(In other words: What are they so busy working on, and appears to be so hard that it takes more time than anticipated?)

These are jokes, how can you make fun of users.
My company pays for annual subscriptions.
I'm asking for what?
All math software producers I know have an annual publishing program.
In the meantime, they issue a lot updates if nessesery.
They stick to deadlines. They take care of the software development.
I loved Mathcad for many things.
I thought that something changed.
But it's time!. I'm definitely finishing my adventure with Mathcad (or rather with PTC).
I would not recommend this (PTC) company to anyone.

For the privilege to be able to access your own intellectual property packed in the worksheets you created.

Unfortunately, you're right - you can't seriously recommend PTC Mathcad as a tool for engineering calculations these days. PTC did not intend for this either - they just wanted to buy a calculation module for their CAD software.

And as you see the plan for Prime 8, "more controls" will be made later. So Prime 7 will only have couple (to make it plural) of basic controls. Or am I being picky?

In the past "development" history of Prime we have seen, the elements promised for the next version often were not implemented and the plans for the version after that were mostly just pious wishes and went up in smoke.

My point was that I had not read anything about being able to script those new input controls.

So we'll just have to wait to see how useful and flexible these new controls will be and to be honest - I haven't had high expectations for PTC and Prime for a long time.
