Back in Intralink days, there was a feature where you could mark/flag a modified/plused child component from checking in while checking in it's modified/plused parent assy.

I need to check in a modified assy but don't want to check in two of it's modified compnents b/c i'm not sure if i am going to keep the changes for each of the two parts. Someone else needs to work on the parent assy, so i need to check it in but don't want the modified/plused parts to check in. Can this be done in windchill?

See attachment for more clarification.

Thanks

Without digging in too deep, I would say you have to exchange your modified
components with the last released in your workspace to set the proper
assembly configuration prior to checking it in.

On Wed, Apr 15, 2015 at 1:21 PM, Abel Saucedo <->
wrote:

> Back in Intralink days, there was a feature where you could mark/flag a
> modified/plused child component from checking in while checking in it's
> modified/plused parent assy.
>
> I need to check in a modified assy but don't want to check in two of it's
> modified compnents b/c i'm not sure if i am going to keep the changes for
> each of the two parts.

Thanks for your reply Russ. I've been searching for exchange components in windchill, but have not had any luck.

Do you know where I could learn more about exchanging components in windchill?

Thanks again

Sorry, that's not a feature but a process. If you have a large assembly
and most objects should be in released state then it would be easier to
reload your workspace by using the filter to load last released vs latest.
If it is only a few objects then click on the information icon of each
object, go to the history and select the last related version. Then add to
workspace to overwrite the in work version.

On Wednesday, April 15, 2015, Abel Saucedo <->
wrote:

> Thanks for your reply Russ.

For those interested. The answer was, lock the components in workspace to keep them from checking in. Thanks Erick Horn and all who took time to reply.
