Just to add what the others have already said:

The model is already related to a WTPart, and you don't have access to modify that WTPart

The model is not associated to a WTPart yet, but a WTPart with the same Number as the CAD model exists and you are checking in with Auto Associate turned on

Best to find the WTPart and get access to it. Workaround for the 2nd case is to turn off Auto Associate for the check in. Workaround for both cases is to unset the "Set for build" option for this check in.

I am getting this error when i am trying to check in an assembly. It is not a new assembly though.

Error Message : " Action cannot be completed as it cannot build association with Part that you do not have access to.You must gain access to the Part or the Part must be deleted from the database."

I do have access for the folder locations. But it seems something else is missing. Can you help to resolve this.

Could be a few things:

Part of that number exists in an area that you do not have access to

You have an assembly and part CAD Doc with same filename just different extension. abc.prt and abc.asm

Part exists in someone else's workspace but they did not fully check it in.

Start here:

https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/CS114508?source=search

Hi @UK_5459701

You do not have access to create / modify WTPart that is related to the Assembly.

There can be several cases.

- Related WTPart can be check-ounted by an another user.

- You do not have access to the context where WTPart is located

- WTPart has state that you can not modify

- the case can be related to the sub part of the assembly
