Hi! First time posting here.

I have Solid Designer/One Space files dated as far back as 2004 that I am trying to recover. These files have .PKG and .SES extensions (not .PKG2 and .SES2). I have Creo Elements 8.0 but I have not been able to find a way to convert or or open these files and not much luck with searching for a solution.
I still have the original dongle for Solid Designer/One Space but no longer have the install disk. This is the only way I can see as a solution would be to install the archived software and open the files and save then out as .step files. Only problem with that... haven't been able to find the install disk.
Anyone have a better solution and any suggestions? I have been trying to recover these file for years and hopefully you guys can help me find a solution.

Hello MK_10812578

do you have also a real name ? 😁

If you have the necessary passwords for the dongle you can install the programs.
The passwords are usually in a text file with the extension .conf.
If you open this file you will usually be able to see which is the latest version of the software you can run with it.
If you can provide this information, someone will be nice enough to send you the appropriate installation files.
At least this will be the license server and modeling.
What else is possible should be also in the .conf file.

Have a nice day and good luck with your search.
Friedhelm

I confirm that you cannot use Creo Elements Direct Modeling Express 8.0 to load Solid Designer/One Space.

But you can use Creo Elements Direct 3D Access which is the viewer of Creo Elements Direct Modeling (formely Solid Designer/One Space).

You do not need any license to use 3D Access.

You can use the latest or any of the latest versions.

With 3D Access, you can:

- Load and view Solid Designer/One Space files (now Modeling) and Modeling files as well.

- Store in STEP, IGES, etc ... , and even in PKG.

- Do some modifications (moving parts or faces) and store again.

Thanks for your solution. This looks to be the best way for me to try. The site (http://kotom.eng.free.fr) that you directed me to is not a secured site so I am hesitant to go there. Also I havent been able to find 3D Access on any secured sites or even with Creo. I am I missing something here?

I do have the passcodes for version 11. I would assume that I would need Win7 to run version 11. Am I right in thinking that?

Frank

Hi,

it is possible that the V11 also runs on Win7, but if I remember correctly we had WinNT at the time. 😄
If you still have the installation files of the V11 it is at least worth a try to start again with this oldtimer.

But I see that you want to go more in the direction of Kotom-Eng's suggestion and I wish you good luck with that.

Please tell us how it went.

Success

3D Access is not on my site.

My site is hosted on one of the 3rd major French internet provider Free (https://portail.free.fr/). Free allows free websites for his customers. It's poor and slow, but 100% free. You can be confident.

Hi, and thanks for your help. I did use Kotom-Eng's suggestions to load Direct 3D Access and I have to say that it work like a charm. After so many years of looking for a solution to access my old SolidDesigner files, thanks to Kotom-Eng's, I was able to open files that I havnt seen in a lot of years.

Thank you all for helping me out!

All the Best,

Merle
