Hi Community,

We set-up a family table of our screws and wanted to add this now to IFX.

For local tests, I saved the generic to ...\Common Files\ifx\parts\ifx_fastener_archive\nb__312350pxxxx.prt

The .dat file looks like this:

!--------------------------------------------------------
! Sechskantschraube
! Hexagon head screw
!--------------------------------------------------------

SCREWTYPE 20
UNIT MM
SURFACE 763
AXIS 745
CBSCR DIN974-2 R1
INFO SCR-HEX-ISO4017-A2-70

!Enter the name of the Family Table Part
!---------------------------------------
FAMPRT nb__312350pxxxx

SYMBOL STRING DN LG B S K DG P
INSTANCE STRING DN LG B S K DG P
#FAMTAB M<DN> d58 d57 d57 d20 d19 d70 pitch

When I now want to add a screw I have a weird behavior:

1. When the generic is not opened in Creo, I don't see any thread size in the drop down, but lengths.

2. When the generic is opened, I see the correct Thread sizes and lengths in the pop-up window. But independent what I select in this pop-up, it always uses the first instance of the FT. Am I missing something here? Any hint is very welcomed.

We are using Creo 11.0.4.0

BR

CHENAMA

Hi CHENAMA,

your *.dat file looks good so far.

Can you please provide the *.dat together with your nb__312350pxxxx.prt file.

Then I will review it.

You can send it directly to oli@buw-soft.de.

Note: You have to set a search_path to '..\Common Files\ifx\parts\ifx_fastener_archive' in order to retrieve the family table model.

Normaly a message should be written to the message log.

Hi Oliver,

By adding the search_path, the first issue resolved. Waiting for your feedback on our files.

Thank you!

Hi Oliver,

Thank you very much for the super fast support!

The solution was to not use the dimension "names" but the attributes.

SYMBOL STRING DN LG B S K DG P
INSTANCE STRING DN LG B S K DG P
#FAMTAB M<DN> DIM_D DIM_L DIM_L DIM_S DIM_K DIM_CORE_DIA DIM_THREAD_PITCH

I understood that this is not supported, but only dimension names are not (yet) supported, parameters are ok.

Hi,

you can use the dimension symbol like 'd21'.

But it was not possible to use the renamed dimension.

But this is fixed in future IFX versions.

In your case, I think the 'PITCH' parameter could not be found, as this belongs to the cosmetic thread feature 866.

This causes an error and the first instance was loaded.
