You left out details on the method you are attempting to use to copy the surfaces between models. I assume you intend to use copy geometry functionality. I was able to copy the surface using external copy geometry to a new model as shown below in Creo 10.0.9.0 .

I am using Creo Parametric Release 10.0 and Datecode10.0.7.0

I am unable to copy a surface set (quilt) to a new model.

Here are the errors that I faced
I never got that far. When I attempted to copy I got absolutely nowhere.

<LI-SPOILER>The part I'm trying to copy is either the "Copy 1" feature or the "Thicken 1"</LI-SPOILER>

There are a couple of ways I might do this.

(1) Do a "Save As" and save to a STEP, IGES, or any other format that can handle surfaces. You'll want to set up your coordinate system for the output so you'll be able to pull it into the other model in the correct location. This method leaves the "recipient" model as independent. The surfaces you copy into it are not associated with any other model. You have to be very specific about what is to be put into the Save As file in order to restrict it to just the quilt(s) of interest.

(2) Put the part you want to copy from in an assembly. Add the part you want to copy the surface to. Activate the "recipient" model. Pick all the surfaces of interest in the "donor" model, copy and paste them into the "recipient". This method makes the "recipient" model dependent on the assembly and the part that supplied the copied surfaces. Could be an advantage if you're going to be making changes to the "donor" and want them to automatically be reflected in the "recipient".

Thanks, Ken Farley

I was about to post that I just saved the good geometry as a shrinkwrap and it worked fine.

I suppose there will be a time when I have a legitimate need to copy geometry but it wasn't necessary this time.
