Hi, when I do this kind of job, I create a part corresponding to the workpiece I will use. Then I assemble the workpiece with the button below.

Hello Forum,

I currently have a project in which i can make multiple parts from a single piece of stock.

Now when i try to configure my parts in manufacturing mode i can't define a workpiece for all my parts combined. Just one part at a time.. (Also mill windows are out of the question).

Is there something i'm missing?

With kind regards,

Witse Volders

I do the same for the workpiece. I never create workpieces within the manufacturing module, but rather as separate parts.

Also, when I've done an array of parts that I'm going to cut from a single block of raw material, I work out all the toolpaths for a single part that is positioned in the raw material as the "first" one. I get all the cuts to work properly and check them thoroughly. Once that's settled, I pattern each of the sequences to get the array to be cut.

The reason you need to make sure the single part cutting paths are all perfect is that once you have patterned a sequence, the only way to make modifications is to delete the pattern, make your fixes, then define the pattern all over again.

Another way to do multiple parts is with subroutines. It allows you to do multiples of the whole operation or individual sequnces. I find it very flexible and if you need to modify a sequence in the operation you can do so with out having to delete the pattern or dig through the pattern to find the sequnce to modify

.
