Periodically, when assembly drawings are being opened, parts will be missing (purple dimensions, missing balloons, .....).

If you close the drawing, erase all, and open up the generic assembly and then reopen the drawing, all the components are there (balloons, dimensions, ....)

I found this discussion, but since when the generic is opened with all the components, it is most likely not a directory / search path issue. Any other thoughts?

Purple dimensions mean missing references. When the drawing is retrieved, the necessary model may not be getting retrieved successfully.

Are you connected to Windchill? If so, can you test the same by backing up the drawing to the desktop, disconnecting from Windchill and then retrieving the drawing from the desktop folder.
