Copying Part Models and Drawings

Greetings all, Our company is in the process of converting our drawings to Pro-E. We are using Pro-E Wildfire 4.0. My question is: Is it possible to take an existing Pro-E part and drawing for let's say an O-Ring and create copies of that model and drawing as well as copying the associativity between the part and model? So that new drawings won't have to be made for simple differences like diameter dimensions. Thanks Nick

yes you can save a copy of your part. The drawing will be created automatically . Part and drawing must have the same name, the config option rename_drawings_with_objects has to be set to both and the drawing has to be in your working dir. Reinhard

you can also duplicate parts, assemblies and drawings within intralink

Small correction to Herr Nueckel's reply: The new .prt and .drg will be created in your working directory, but the drawing will be copied as long as Pro/E can find it - so it could be anywhere on your search path, or probably in session (I haven't tested this one).
