Mideling prefixes

BMX = Behavioral modeling ISDX = the style tool and surfacing modeling ISO = ? anyone want to add to the list, at least I can sound smart thowing out all these prefixes, until I actually learn what they do.

Mideling = typo

BMX - Behavioral Modeling ISDX - Styles tool, surface modeling MDO, MDX - Mechanism design. Pro/M - Mechanica These are the ones I've heard of so far. What's the difference between MDO and MDX?

ISDX - Interactive Surface Design Extension EMX - Expert Moldbase Extension - mold structure design TDO - Tool Design Option - for mold makers EFX - Expert Framework Extension PDX - Progressive Die Extension The list goes on and on...

MDX - Mechanism Design Extension - Provides engineers, within the product development process, kinematic motion simulation and behavioral insight into the assembly through the easy definition and animation of connections with Pro/ENGINEER, such as pin joints, ball joints and sliders. These connections, and resulting assembly constraints, facilitate the easy assembly of closed loop systems, like four bar linkages. These connections can be used compatibly and in combination with packaging and traditional Pro/ENGINEER constraints like mate, align and insert. MDO - Mechanism Dynamics Option - Adds dynamic functionality to Pro/ENGINEER Mechanism Design to provide a powerful virtual prototyping environment for the simulation and improvement of mechanism operation as part of the design process. Pro/ENGINEER Mechanism Dynamics allows designers to virtually engineer a mechanism without leaving the familiar user interface and workflow of Pro/ENGINEER.

Also, for example: AAX -- Advanced Assembly Extension [Don't know if anyone calls the Mannikin Analysis Extension MAX.] To get a better idea of the complete set of things to which these acronym-ed packages belong, select Pro/ENGINEER under the PRODUCTS tab on the PTC home page, then select the down arrow in the top left Selection box. 39 separate modules listed there at last count. Many, such as Pro/CONCEPT aren't represented by these cute little 3-letter names.
