opening pro-e drawings in 3rd party software

Currently we are running WF3.0. A vendor we deal with uses Autocad so we convert our Pro-E drawing files to Autocad files which can then be manipulated. Is there another program that can take a Pro-E drawing file and open, then manipulate it like an Autocad file?? We currently convert all our Pro-E drawing files to Autocad for archiving and releasing drawings. We are considering just using the Pro-E drawing files for this use. I know Edrawings can be used to export the files but they are not able to be manipulated (at least not in the free version). I don't know how the full version handles this.

ProE drawings require the presence of the model. Also, they are editable. If it were for archive purposes, you should consider a non-editable format, such as "pdf".
