Dividing 1 Component into 2 Components

Hey, I have a fairly complex casing for a product im designing, and want to divide it into 2 pieces for ease of manufacture and repair. does anyone know how i can go about this? Thanks

Hi, You can create a simplified representation having a half cut or create a family table

If you have advanced assembly: 1. create a surface in your part where you want the 2 to split 2. Create 2 new parts that are empty geometry wise 3. In one of those do an insert->shared data->external merge 4. Cut (solidify) away half of the part with the split surface 5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for the other part but cut away the other half
