Assigning Legend Labels automatically

I am plotting charts based on arrays imported from various data sets which also contain the names of the traces being plotted.
Is there a way of assigning the legend labels automatically from text contained in an array element?
Alternatively, can variable names be defined in such manner?

I am using Mathcad v13.0

Variable names can be created from strings in input. See my define variables sheet for an example ( http://collab.mathsoft.com/read?112283,11 ). But there is no way to create legen entries other than manually.

Are you reading the post on the web or are you reading a mail copy? Generally links to forum messages only work when you are already in the forum. When I click on the link I get (in a new window -- pop-up blockers?) the post with the referenced file attached.

Using standard Mathcad plot features? No. There
is a long-standing request to allow such
capability.

It is possible using certain components (eg, Excel
or Matlab) or writing your own labels directly onto
the plot - See the eBook 'Amazing Images'
