Must be a vector

Using MathCAD 14 M020
I am attaching an example file that is NOT erroring out.
I have another calculation where I define P.f[1:4 (written how typed).
After a certain point in the calculation, the value errors out and says that the value must be a vector! Any suggestions on how to fix?

Not without seeing the one that doesn't work.

Richard

Fix what? You posted a perfectly good sheet, no problems in it. Obviously you made some mistake in your sheet with the error. In this context it is highly unlikely that it represents a bug in MC14 (the purpose of this section).

The error usually means that you have used a single subscript on a value that is not a vector (either a scalar, that takes no subscripts at all, or a matrix, that requires two subscripts). Fix either the value or the subscript, whichever is wrong.

Tom,

On the sheet with the error (will try to eliminate superfluous items) I need to carry the argument. As I head down the calculation, the argument is *lost* I've Deleted most of the file not related to the error. Please see the LAST Page to the right of the sheet.

There is no Mathcad bug or error.

You redefined the variable in the text block to be a scalar with the summation.

Fair enough.

I need to sum up some items and retain the vector. How do I do that?
The vector value is used as a variable for another equation later in the calculation 🙂

Assign the sum to a different variable.
