Summary-What controls the section view note & arrows text Font and size (dtl or config options)?

Don,

I'm confused, I have the same problem as you do, but from your original
email, you are getting the results that I want automatically and I'm
getting what you want automatically. I want the word 'SECTION' in the
standard font, 0.10" tall and the letters 'A-A' in the filled font,
0.20" tall.

If there's no options to control this (and I thought this was the case
as well), why are you getting a different default than I am?

May you and I should just switch jobs. 😛

Rant on...

It's stuff like this that makes you really wonder whether it's worth
bothering with enhancement requests. Another example of taking a good
idea 90% of the way and leaving the 10% that would REALLY make it work
right untouched.

In WF4, PTC *finally* added an option that allows you to control the
default for the text placement and justification for drawing view notes.
That means you don't need to move the note from over on the left to
underneath the center of the view, or change the justification for
multi-line notes so that they aren't left-justified.

BUT...

They didn't fix the inconsistent text size controls for view notes. The
prefix text for details, sections, etc. (e.g., SECTION) conforms to the
default font settings for the drawing, while the reference section
(e.g., A-A) conforms to the def_view_text_xxxxx settings. Oh, except
for projection view notes, which work the way everyone wants (*all* the
view label text conforms to the special settings), but almost never get
used.

Best Regards,

I put in a request about this back in 17 I guess that just shows you how
long it takes to get enhancements

Best Regards,

Eric,

I want exactly what WF4 is giving you, looks like if I ever get to
upgrade (more new clients still on WF2. Argh!) I'll finally get what I
want.

I like having the letter more prominent as it makes it easier on a
large, complex drawing to find the cutting plane or detail circle for
the view your looking at. Still, projected views ought to follow the
same rules and there ought to be more flexibility available to get the
drawings the way anyone wants. Oh well, maybe in WF13.
