Very slow upload, download, check-in and check-out times.

Hi Gang,

We are running PDMLink 9.1 M050 with Wildfire 4.0 M220. Oracle 10g.

We are seeing some extremely long times for opening files out of PDMLink. I did a search for an "A" size drawing uning an empty assembly file. Selected to open it in Pro/Engineer and it takes 5 minutes to display the drawing. I can check the workspace in a stand-alone browser and the files are listed in about 15 seconds but the drawing does not display in Pro/E yet.

Any body seen this and found a cause and more importantly, a fix?

Large assemblies are just rediculas, like 2 hours.

We have set most of the DM_ config options as recommended by the performance guides.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Earl Beattie.

Have you done anything to tune the client? That's typically where most of the problems are. Look at the attached document. You will want to look at the TPI's listed in the document because they have been recently updated with additional registry settings.

Earl,

We have seen similar issues, but only when we selected the open in Pro/E icon from Windchill. Similar behavior regardless of selecting the icon out of IE or from the embedded browser window. If you were to look at the status of the browser, you will see that it is utilizing a Java script to open the Pro/E file. The alternative we use is to simply type in the filename in the file/open dialog box once Pro/E is open. File then opens normally.
