We are in the process of Implementing Windchill 10.0 for BOM and Change Management and we are struggling with one fundamental difference. I am hoping that others have found viable options around this and are willing to share.
In OOTB Windchill BOM, a part has a “Source” of Make or Buy (also a Buy single source) and this part can be used in many Distribution Targets (Plants). In our case, we have parts that would need a different Source for each of the plants. Meaning, the part is a Make internally for one plant, but the same part is a Buy externally for a different plant. In a few cases, they want the part to be made internally in one plant and bought internally from the first plant. Either way, we need to have the Source tied to the distribution target and not a single value against the part. Has anyone found a way around this?
