Sorry, a lot of abbreviations in header, but it is PTC's way of naming things. 
Let me explain. Windchill has Catia integration via WGM. Catia parts/products have parameters definied, which are mapped to Windchill IBAs (parameters). Everything works as expected.
Then Catia part is imported to Creo (WF5) via ATB and TIM (Translation Image Model, special type of ProE part) is created. Now, is there any way that TIM automatically gets parameters (IBAs) from Catia part from which it is created? IBAs for both Catia nad ProE are the same.
Why is that necessary? Because, for part and assy identification, designers use ProE parameters (mapped to IBAs) and not Number&Name. Number is auto generated, so without parameters mapped to TIM, there is no fast way to find TIMs via search. For every TIM, designer must first find its Catia part and then he/she can identify corresponding TIM. Assigning parameters/IBAs to TIM would make this process much faster. It can be done manually, but it is very time consuming.
