IE Browser User Agent String corruption

IE Browser User Agent String corruption

Designation: Non-SSA/Finmeccanica

Recently, computers at a remote location started having odd behavior
with Windchill. Using the embedded browser, they would save Pro/E files
to an active workspace but the Windchill would not register any
modification to the workspace. Additionally, when they created new
objects and saved them, they would not show up in the workspace and they
had other odd behavior.

After having PTC run some client diagnostics it was determined that
these computer had an Internet Explorer "user agent string" corruption
issue. This would cause the server to not communicate properly with the
embedded browser. While PTC tech support offered a number of things to
try and resolve we have been unsuccessful. Here is a screen shot of
what a diagnostic utility returns when you enter the it's address into
the browser address bar. The MSIE information is reporting a wild
version number and additional information that PTC places on the end of
the string cannot be performed.

Our IT group is stumped, has anyone ever run into this and what steps
did you take to correct the issue. Any help would be appreciated!

Intralink 9.1 M050

Pro/E WF 4 M150

IE version 8 (althought some computers w/v7 had same issue.)
