Just so that people understand where I am coming from, I am working with an Intralink system that has been left without access restrictions or controls for over 6 years. As such, I know there are issues with how some of the folders and items are set up. This is not how I would have preferred it, but I have to work with what I am given.
Now, on to the issue: Is there a way to "lock" (not necessarily in the Intralink lock terms) an individual item in Intralink to be read only for people with a given level of access?
The reason: In the past, we have had problems with people going back in to "tweak" models they felt were not modeled properly. This sometimes leads to the loss of a reference used by that part in a later assembly. Mostly, this tends to happen with our hardware, but it has also happened with other parts. Unfortunately, I do not have the authority to do anything about it, other than to roll-back the model (if one exists to roll back to), so I want a way to load the model back in and prevent anyone from changing it, while still allowing them to use it in their assemblies and check it out to their workspace.
Any help?
