checking-out/in old iterations

I am using Windchill PDMLink Release 12.1 and Datecode with CPS 12.1.2.8

When trying to checkout an old version of an assembly in creo parametric (version 9.0.0.0) the conflictmanager displays an error message saying that the assembly can not be checked-out as it is not the newest version.

When going through the windchillsettings we could not find an option that would allow for previous iterations to be checked-out/in.

The suggested solution in the article CS100514 does not work, as under "settings -> create and edit" no option "Allow checkout of non-latest iterations" exists.
The only available setting under create and edit is "object checked out warning" which can be set to yes or no.

How can checking-out/in of older iterations be enabled?
Thank you in advance!

Hi @GR_10587535

You need to set the Preference settings on the Organization level or Product level.

A user can not change this setting.

So you need to contact Windchill administrator to change the setting on org level or Product Manager that can set it on Product level.

Site/Organization/Product/Library -> Utilities -> Preference manager -> Create and Edit -> Allow checkout of non-latest iterations

The user setting does not allow you to change that configuration

PS> in the CS100514 case there is written that you have to go to the context configuration that means not users one.

@GR_10587535  Hi,

Also please take care to use "As Stored" configuration when Adding those Non-latest iterations(In the Add to Workspace/Check out Window),

because if its an assembly, Windchill may only give the latest iteration of its children(Usual default behaviour), hence by using "As Stored" you will be able to retrieve the snapshot of that assembly when that Iteration was created.

Cheers

Hari
