How can I sectioning a mesh in a part/assembly?

Hi!

Continuing with my previous posted question, solved to see the mesh of a part that is hide by other parts, the next issue is to cut that obtained mesh and see the elements that CREO (2.0 academic edition) have made inside the part not only the surface. I know how to cut a part but it is possible to cut a mesh of that part and see inside.

Thanks

Luis,

Here I have opened a part in Creo Simulate Legacy Structure (a.k.a. "Mechanica independent mode", i.e. the old original CAD-independent version of Creo Simulate.

I meshed it, and then I picked a few elements to hide.

Here you can add solid elements (or any other modeling entity) to groups that you can hide or show. In this case I didn't create a group, I just clicked "Hide items" and then "Solids" and then I picked a few solids using box select. This way I can display or hide elements of my choice.

It's tedious to work in the old UI, but it has some advantages. In post-processing it is also possible to extract stress results for specific elements etc.

(Executable: <Creo 2.0 loadpoint>\Simulate\bin\simulate.exe")

Still, it's a Pitty that "the independent mode" is no longer there in Creo 3.0
