Friction but no ground springs please

Hi,

I may have asked something similar before, possibly associated with large deformation analysis.

Friction requires large deformation analysis.

Am I right that we can't have a ground spring if we do the above?

Thanks

I guess calculation of friction (contact) is nonlinear.

Nonlinear analysis is not supported with non-simple spring - this has been confirmed for Creo Parametric 2.0

(by mistake the article CS94508 was not visible - I changed this now)

Thank you Gunter,

A work around used in these events is to have a simple point to point spring. Keep the points close together. Constrain one end of the spring with a normal displacement constraint effectively making it a ground spring.

If stiffness is required in more than one direction, create mutually perpendicular springs to a common point, each spring's second point has its own displacement constraint (ground).
