How to connect a non-PTC 3D system to Windchill (login, repository....)?

Hi.
In our team we develop an hybrid 3D modelling application.
This applications supports Win and MAC. For Win, currently we use Visual Studio 2010.
We need to connect our application to PTC Windchill.
What does this mean? In our UI we shall provide a form to let the user connect with a 'login' to Windchill, choose a repository,
makes queries, upload/download.  (Ignore files import/export, for now).
So, we need to communicate with Windchill.
We guess we need to buy  library/SDK/something from PTC.  But what?
Could you tell me how to do that?Which are the modules?
We have no idea; we tried to contact PTC (We are Italian, with head quarter is in USA), but no answer for the moment...
