Should "Account for Stiffness" option be in Preload option like in Fastener?

Hello All,

As Account for Stiffness option is available in Fastener connection while applying Preload Force.

Shouldn't it be also available in Preload while defining loads separately to a component?

Hello, I tested it.

Do You have Advanced_Simulation_Ext?

Creo Simulate 4 (advanced):

Hello Paul,

Thank you for your reply. Yes, I do have Creo Simulate 4.0

My question is about what could be a reason for not having a "Account for Stiffness" function in Preload while applying it separately? I mean if we apply preload separately then interface_force would be less than the actual applied Preload and we need to run static analysis once more to have desirable interface_force at the end. Isn't it?

What do you think?

Best regards,

Jignesh

yes You are right.

problem are the resources PTC still has

i don't have creo simulate 4.

Hello all,

Thank you for replying.

I know the function of Account for stiffness and how to use it also. But when we apply preload in loads and constraints in model in Creo Simulate 4.0.

Preload_highlight.PNG

after clicking this preload, we get Preload Definition Dialog Box for example like below image

option for account for stiffness.png

In this option, we do not get Account for stiffness which is available in Fastener connection.

So my question is, should't be there that option for getting actual preload in analysis?

What do you think, what could be the reason for not having that option in Preload?

Best regards,

hello Jignesh

  • Fastener is a old feature, preload is younger
  • Fastener feature has a atomatically measure "fastener_axial_force", but preload don't have that
  • PTC don't have enough resources (code enhancements)

paul
