How to apply PRELOAD in creo simulation

in creo 2 simulation, I simply need some guide to figure out how to apply some preload to some parts before I run the shock or random vibration analysis.

I think I got it. On refine model tab, you need to specidy volume or surface first. then you can select that section and apply your desire load. but I still don't know how to change the direction for it.

I think I got it. On refine model tab, you need to specidy volume or surface first. then you can select that section and apply your desire load. but I still don't know how to change the direction for it.

Use the following items in the References area to define a general solid type bolt preload:

  • Direction—Select a linear edge, curve, axis, or a surface to define the direction of the preload. The direction is defined to be along the selected linear edge, curve, axis, or normal to the selected planar surface. The selected geometrical reference is shortened in the specified direction.
