Creo Elements so far it is similar to CoCreate One Space V17, however in CCV17 there were 2 each 3D commands (Turn) would add a solid material via working geometry around an Axis and you would indicate the circular degrees and Bore would do the opposite by removing the material. I see the turn command is still there in Elements but Bore is not, or at least I haven’t found it. For instance if I had a cylindrical object and I wanted to create an O-Ring groove around the outer diameter assuming I created a working geometry at the cylindrical axis and wanted to remove that material. What would the command be? I could create a path on an adjacent workplane and sweep (Remove Material) the geometry. However that is a lot of work considering the (bore) command used to work perfectly in CCV17.

Please ask your technical support team to answer my question if you cannot.

Hello Rick,

I hope I understand you correctly, and I think you should look at this link:

https://community.ptc.com/t5/3D-Part-Assembly-Design/O-RING-slot/td-p/449767

There is shown the principle of "Pull Angular".

Pull Angular.jpg

If the Preview of the machining is Magenta you are removing material.

If it is green you add material.

Then you have to switch by "Operation" to "Remove Material"

Much success with the changeover to the ribbon

I will add that in version 19 you can use the TAB key to toggle the Pull Angular command between adding material (turn) and removing material (bore).

Hi Peter,

thank you very much, that was new to me.

Until now i used for this purpose two shortcuts with the commands:

:Operation :add_material

:Operation :remove_material

That with the TAB is much better

Can I find and read such innovations somewhere or do I need to book a course?

That function with the TAB key was a new feature in version 18.1. I find a lot of information in the "What's new" document with each release.

The "What's New in Creo Elements/Direct Modeling version 19.0" video has some information. http://www.ptc.com/video?id=3519970732001&account=PTC

The "PTC Learning Exchange" also has some videos on functionality-especially what's new with each release: All PTC Creo Elements/Direct & CoCreate Tutorials

I have also found a number of changes that were not documented anywhere that I found; so even with reviewing all of that documentation I have been surprised (some were pleasant surprises, a few weren't).
