What are the potential reasons for the "Local files are out of date with workspace" status when using the UWGM?

Beside the status "Out of date with Commonspace" we get the "Local Files are out of date with workspace" status when we use the UWGM with solidWorks.

I would like to know the potential reasons for this status.

What are your experiences?

Article CS184976 states there is a bug in Solidworks 2014 pre-SP4 that can cause this status after saving.

Article CS223174 gives another possible reason for this status.
