Wow, talk about a long follow up period, I still had this in my inbox as
one I wanted to keep and follow up on. I just got off the phone with
the marketing guy from Aras and they now support multi platform CAD
integration with an add-on from Xplm a German company. It is a
commercial product, so it goes against the rest of the Aras software
stuff (they are an Open Source company) but you gotta do what you gotta
do. If you haven't looked at them as a PLM option, it is very
interesting to see how the other half lives. By the way, their
engineering VP (or head cheese or whatever) "directed development of
Ilink" while at PTC. Makes you go hmmmmm.
This is particularly interesting to me because we are still without a
PLM/PDM solution at all. Long story, no happy ending yet, but working
on it.
